Now that I’ve got my two Troops and plus HQ done I’m now going back to the armour, so this month I’m going to do another of my Leman Russ battle tanks. I’m also hoping to try and get a small game in this month if I can, so I’ll let you know how I get on next month.

So after using some plague marines in a game and having some spare
unfinished Alpha Legionares I'm doing some, plague marines are an
indistructable wall for enemy troops to crash against, perfect for holding
objectives (and surviving friendly fire from 'fire frenzy' Dreadnoughts
lol).

I've joined the challenge somewhat later than the rest of the team, as I spent the first five months of the year painting a 400+ model Skaven army for Warhammer Fantasy. I play more fantasy than 40k, but when Spoils of War was announced at the end of July and I had nothing planned, I decided to dust off some old models, buy a few new ones, and repaint my Space Marines in the livery of my very first army - Blood Angels. I've always loved the history, and have a few older models which I plan to paint.
.... However, in the grandest traditions of 'Blue Peter' I've done quite a bit already. The tournament is, after all, only 1 week away and I'd be foolish if I had only *just* started.
After many an evening of furious painting, I'm now on just under 2,000 points, with 3 Rhino APCs on the table to be finished this week. If it goes well I'll add a Baal but I'm not hopeful.
So what have I done since the end of May in preparation for Spoils? - Reclusiarch (HQ Chaplain), 3 Sanguinary Priest (one on Bike), 2 Tactical Squads (one with Rhino), 2 Assault Squads (10 man and 8 man) (Transports on their way), 1 Sternguard, 1 Terminator Squad (6 men), 2 Dreadnoughts, 1 Attack Bike and 5 Bikers... not bad for a few months.
Without further ado - some photos:

Blood Claws: I have been painting up more Bloodclaws to make a single big
squad who will get a ride in Landraider Crusader.

Wulfen: As I am using the standard issue GW wulfen for bloodclaws I have
converted up a couple of models to be wulfen. These are simply made from
Secrets of the Third Reich werewolf torsos glued onto Marine legs.
