A New Year's Resolution Pt 4
By John Oman
I went through a really painful painting period a couple of months back. I seem
to go through periodic gaming lows. Heaven knows why, but I do.
I just couldn't look a figure in the face for almost a couple of months. I then
applied a variant of my patented, sure-fire way out of the doldrums ? the old
"get a new army" and paint that ploy. The twist this time was that I picked up a
Dwarf I had lying around and painted him. He turned out to be my saviour, and I
then spent the next couple of months cracking on with quiet a few more.
So during March and most of April I did next to nothing, but during the back end
of April, May and June I cracked on with my Dwarves and completed 45 of the
little chappies. I'm very happy with the way they turned out to boot. I even
finished the barbarians selected for March.
That's 6 months done, so I should have completed 120 figures. I'm nearly on
target with 116. I hope to make those up in the next month or two.
The fruits of my labours are shown below:

I've located some rather nice Goblins, who have been patiently awaiting
attention for about 7 years now and they deserve their day. So during July I
will have a crack at 10 of them, together and some barbarians. Although the
sight of barbarians is getting to me rather, I'll carry on for a bit - there are
only a few of them left now. What do I need more Goblins for? and probably, more
importantly where do they keep coming from?
Answer to these questions, and others will be given next month.
A snap of July's task is below:
