This month, despite my earlier hints about fire dragons, I've decided to go for my Wraithlord that I've just finished converting, it was reasonably difficult to do as the legs needed a lot of cutting and green stuffing to get it right but now I have my dynamic leader ready to smite things with his Wraith blade and I'm itching to get it painted.

This month I’ve decided to go for one of my HellHound flame tanks. I’m really looking forward to using them when I get to play my first game with this army as there one of the few things in the Imperial Guard list I have never used.

I am relieved that my proposed theme should be ok. I wanted something a bit different to the beer swigging vikings most people use. This force is more of a priesthood assigned to looking after the unfortunates who have sucumbed to the curse of the wulfen. And that brings me to my next choice . . . Blood Claws.

A small squad of Blood Claws. Although these are the official GW miniatures with curse of the wulfen, don't forget that the theme of my army is a cult or priesthood looking after the poor guys inflicted with said curse. I'm looking forward to converting some chaps who have got it real bad for the models that will actually receive the curse upgrade ;) These miniatures were a joy to paint. They don't make minis like this anymore! The detail is fabulous and the quality of the sculpts just fantastic.

I'm now in possession of both the Codex and the beautiful Sanguinary Guard models - they're my painting goal for April. To compensate for last month's failure I'll also be picking up one of the flashy new Death Company boxes, and thus gunning for two entries for the price of one. In my big post last month I confidently declared that Assault Squads in Razorbacks were the way forward - for competitive play I still reckon that's the case, but the rule of cool has overturned that decision and so I'll be doing a big squad of jump troops instead. Now where did I put that 'painting a decent gold' tutorial...

Finally done! That banner took far too long before I decided to just give up and do it quick'n'dirty. Onto the Librarian!

So for April thought I'd do some Terminators which I will make out of the Wolf Guard boxed set, the reason for this is I wanted to have loads of lightning claws which the CSM Terminators boxed set doesn't have, so a lot of filing off honours and seals then paint them up in the same red as I have for the rest of my Army.
I can't wait to see these Elites in action, in the few games I've played with just Berzerkers I've struggled capturing objectives and taking out Tanks so with the extra armour Terminator's have and the deep strike ability I'm hoping they can do some serious damage and bring the pain in the month of rain.

I picked up a Zoanthrope for £7 at a bring and buy, so that is this months project. I like the S9 psychic lance of the 'thrope but appreciate he will be a target of preference for most experienced players.
